One of my favourite colours to wear is white. It could be your favourite plain white shirt, white summer dress, head to toe white look or just an addition of a white blazer … You must admit , white makes every outfit look a bit more refine, more chique. There’s a pristine quality to the brightest of shades – white – and now more than ever, we see it making its way into the spotlight. Whether you’re confident enough to work it from head to toe, are looking for a trend-focussed spin on the look or want to break yourself in gently with a more subtle interpretation, there’s a way to work every shade of white into your existing summer wardrobe.
No colour is more fresh or crisp than white, so when you wear the hue from head to toe, it results in an exceptionally stylish, high-impact look.
FOR EVENT SEASON
Dramatic silhouettes will instantly upscale the effect of an all-white look and this season’s most celebrated shape is the off-the-shoulder neckline. Distinctive sharpness to dresses and a Bardot neckline in this brilliant hue will balance the typically reserved qualities of a midi-length skirt and put a relevant spin on occasion wear styles.
This Rafferty dress by Reiss in white is a striking occasion wear option and one that feels that little bit extra special when you put it on. Minimalistic in design but featuring the season’s most coveted off-the-shoulder neckline, it’s an elegant take on an SS17 trend.
THE MODERN WAY
Perfectly demonstrating the transformative powers of colour, a classic tailored suit takes on a fresh new guise that’s far removed from the boardroom when imagined in bright white. Take your cue from the style set and make it your off-duty staple, taking the blazer slightly oversized and ruching it at the sleeves to lend your look an air of nonchalance.
MYLA JACKET SINGLE-BREASTED BLAZER .The Myla blazer is a sharp take on occasion wear dressing, imagined in a fresh white hue and cut to a slim, single-breasted silhouette. Best styled with the coordinating tailored separates but equally suited to a printed dress come event season.
LUCIA STRIPED SHIRT . Androgynous dressing is the order of the season and the white and black Lucia blouse is a perfect way to follow the trend.
MYLA TROUSER SLIM-LEG TROUSERS. The white Myla trousers are tailored from a slightly textured fabrication to a slim-fitting silhouette that’s universally flattering and easy to wear.
EDIE TUMBLED-LEATHER TOTE .The Edie tote in cream is crafted from soft tumbled leather in cream that’s at once luxurious and statement-making.
I absolutely love this look and separates make the season’s white trend all the more approachable .Separates create wearable way to work the hue into your wardrobe, especially if you’re not yet ready to fully commit to the head-to-toe styling directive. Relaxed shorts make more of a statement than a white top, however, so try them with similarly icy shades to soften the impact.
LARUE SATIN BLOUSE. The fern Larue blouse by Reiss is an elegant take on classic shirting, cut from soft satin in the season’s most coveted hue.
TOSCA BELTED SHORTS. For a summer-ready take on separates styling look to the Tosca shorts by Reiss. They’re cut from lightweight fabric to a fluid silhouette and they come in a fresh white hue. High rise design makes them easy to wear and extremely comfortable. Especially if you are a pear-shaped or an hourglass like me.
MARLA SUEDE ANKLE-STRAP SHOES. The nude Marla shoes by Reiss are a feminine and versatile footwear option, crafted to a classic point-toe design and detailed with a cut-away section at the ankle. They visually elongate your legs, which is always a bonus ).
You can not go wrong with black & white look. Always looks classy and sophisticated. The white Ennis skirt is a sporty take on a wardrobe classic. It’s trimmed with black piping and has two symmetrical slits in the front. You ca wear it with a cropped chunky knit for cooler days and switch to lighter alternatives in warmer months. It was £120, now it is £80. You can purchase it here.
And a The perfect white coat. As I already declared my love to white coat in previous articles , I wanted to add this particular item to one of my favourites. I love the cut and shape of this coat. And it will complete the perfect white winter/ autumn look. Add a touch of luxury to your outerwear collection with the collarless Skye coat. It’s spun from a rich combination of wool and cashmere to a minimalistic, open-front silhouette and it fastens at the waist with a self-tie belt. Layer it over day and evening looks for instant elevation.
Skye wool and cashmere, off white coat by Reiss. Was £445 and £225
